The Guardian has reported that World Cup 2010 Golden Ball award winner, Diego Forlan is available in a cut price deal this summer.
The Uruguayan international is believed to be available for around £10 million, almost half of the original asking price when Spurs were interested in his services last transfer window. The major drop in asking price is due to Forlan’s perceived lack of form, which is now deemed by Atletico Madrid’s outgoing manager, as more than just a blip. Forlan has managed 10 goals this season, eighteen less than his tally of 28 last season.
Harry Redknapp is believed to have finally run out of time with his misfiring forwards, with rumours constantly speculating that Roman Pavlyuchenko could be on his way out of White Hart Lane. Redknapp believes Forlan would be the ideal man to lead the Lilywhites charge for a top four spot next season, after the disappointment of missing out this year.
Forlan has played in the Premier League with Manchester United before but had a rather disappointing three seasons at Old Trafford
