David Prutton joined Sky Sports’ EFL podcast and talked about Leeds United’s latest victory in the Championship and what exactly they have to do make sure this season ends in success.
The Whites are seemingly well and truly back on track and back to their best following a 4-0 demolition job on Hull City that took them just one point behind league leaders West Brom. Of course, their rivals losing and dropping all three points in their clash surely helped their cause but Prutton believes nothing’s over yet and things will look promising only if they can maintain this momentum and take points off Fulham in their next clash.
Here’s what he said for Sky Sports’ EFL podcast (2/3/2020): “You’d hope that this is confirmation that that blip is well and truly behind them. But I think they got to be very, very worried. They’re in a very good position now. That gap between second and third and if they manage to maintain what they’re doing at this moment in time and take those points off Fulham, then it would look very promising indeed.”
Indeed, Prutton is referencing the home game Leeds United are playing against Fulham on 18 March which could go a long way towards deciding which teams end up at the very top of the table. Considering the Whites’ form this season, it won’t be easy but Marcelo Bielsa’s men do look at least a bit rejuvenated as of late and that huge victory over Hull City was their fourth win in a row, which definitely bodes well for the squad.
Now it’s all about keeping it up and keeping the momentum going.
